Chassis:
Delivered new to Paris dealer Autoval SA late in 1956, this Boano Coupe was shortly thereafter exported to the United States. In 1958, it was jointly owned by Chuck Sweeney and Bill Woodward, who raced the car during the 1958 season in California and on Hawaii. It was subsequently sold to Vancouver and remained in Canada for many years, changing hands several times. In 2006, it was acquired by an enthusiast in Dallas, Texas, who submitted the car to a ground-up restoration. In more recent years, it returned to Europe and in Belgian ownership was treated to another $200,000 restoration in Italy. In 2016, it was shown at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and a year later it was consigned to the Bonhams Quail Auction in August.
