Seems like great fun
Isn't that what the Lancia Stratos was designed for?
Ferrer, do you any idea of the date and event?
Brilliant pics, BTW :)
i wasnt really excited to open this thread. the 308 is probably my 2nd or 3rd least favorite ferraris. but these pics are great. a ferrari in the dirt, never would have guessed it.
They were used in rallying by the time Group B began. Guy Fréquelin used to drive one, if I remember well. And yes, this is what Stratos was all about.

The Ferrari 308 was first homologated in Group 3 and 4 in the mid 70's and started being used by italian drivers in small Italian rallyes. The most famous operation involving it, was Ch.Pozzi's effort with Jean-Claude Andruet at the wheel in the late 70's tackling the European Rally Championship and some WRC rounds, with the best result a second overall in the 1981 Tour de Corse. The Quattrovalvole version was later homolgated in Group B, but was never as competitive as the Group 4 cars. As a curiosity Bjorn Waaldegard (the first ever World Rally Champion in 1979) drove one in the 1983 Rally Sanremo.
