Pity theres no I.Q test in the American system huh?
At 15 you can get your learners license, which means you can only drive with a supervisor (parent or someone who's had their full license for 2 years). After 6 months on that one you can get your restricted license which means you can drive your own, but no passengers unless they're your wife/husband whatever, or had their full license for more than 2 years, and you can't drive between 10pm and 5am. After 18 months (or 12 months if you do a defensive driving course) you can go for your full license.

Cheers nota.

That's racism/stereotyping. Be careful, some people may criticize you for this.

I don't understand why you can't drive at night, it's actually far more relaxing and less dangerous since the roads are mostly your own if you drive late at night enough :)

I was being sarcastic following the issue of a "debate" in another thread. You might want to take a look at it.
Oh and I forgot, good luck with the test Spaz! :)

Yeah, good luck indeed. :D
Just be confident in your driving ability and yourself, and you should pass, no sweat :)

It was a lot of fun in that thread. A bang old time.
As for this thread, I also wish you good luck Spaz. May your road be clear.

Who said I was being serious, I just had the superior rebuttal :)
I agree with the call about night driving, apparently its when most accidents happen on the road but I doubt people on their restricted are more likely to get fatigued than those on their full license. I'd still say its far safer than driving through a busy town or city during the day.

I find night driving to be rather relaxing...
...until someone bright-lights you
-
I love night driving.
It's usually very relaxing because there's no one.
Also at night it feels like it's you, the road and your car.
-
that and it's cooler, which suits most cars better

It is undoubtedly the best time to drive. I particularly prefer the period between 1-4 in the morning when there is next to no one on the streets.
-
Blimey, your licensing thing is bloody complicated!
-
Its easy as! No restrictions on how much hp your car can have or anything like Australia has I think.
-
Woah, that's soo wierd. Here it's so easy, although are insurance companies rape us.
-
i do <3 $270 AUD per year for comprehensive insurance
some kids who just got their license may complain about the restrictions, but honestly they make sense and if you can't have fun with 270hp you're doing it wrong
