Ferrari trying to rectify inferiority complex with V10

Is this true, that Ferrari is working on a V10 to compete against the Gallardo performance advantage...?

I hope so, it's cool to see that the stride between Ferrari and Lamborghini still exists. And perhaps it isn't such a bad idea too. IMO Lamborghini is way ahead of Ferrari...

Would you care to properly justify that?

I think that Ferrari hasn't got a decent V10 at the moment. Wait, do they even have a V10 at the moment?

The F430 has a V8 as far as I know...

Do you evaluate cars by the numbers of cylinders?

If you're comparing just on cylinders, then yes, although the Enzo's 12 kills the current Lamborghini line. Judging based on overall performance, Lamborghini trails Ferrari by a good bit.

has ferrari ever had a v-10? maybe in schumakers lil toy but as far as i know they use 12's 8's and turbo 8's. they don't need to stoop down to lambo's selling idea. have a high perforamnce expensive car and a cheaper one for people who can't afford / wait / or buy the expensive one. a ferrari is a ferrari. nuff said. a lambo is something else.

Ferrari just seems overrated in my opinion. Everyone shits a brick when they see an enzo, but if an koenigsegg came down the street half the people would be like hmph that was nice wonder what it is. Ferrari is great dont get me wrong, but there are other alternatives out there that can definitley surpass for the same price (Mmmmm Z06/Ford GT)

ferrari, overrated, no way. Enzo made sure that would never happen. never allowing an exact # of car to be built. (although he went over his head building over 1000 F40's) the thing is, ferrari has name. all the celebs drive it and people kno its presence. its been around for a long time and that iconic red paint screams ferrari.

All you've done is prove furthermore that they are overrated by saying that Ferrari "has name". Thats it? it has name? Stick a Ferrari badge on a Fiat and people will still scream when they see it. Oh wait, they've already done that

i think there was already a thread about this....
but to build a name you do have to have something, you just dont automatically have a name. Why dont you go drive one of their cars and then you can come back and tell us that it just has a name, that, that is it.

THe 360 and 430 you cant go wrong with. I think they dont need a V-10 the V-8 does a hell of a job against the Lambo and when the cs car will come out it will be even better.

    I don't think there will be a 430 CS (street-legal)
I heard something about "enough adjustments to make the current F 430 as good track-car as anyone would need"

Of course, I hope I'm totally wrong about this though (¨,)

Ferrari has no reason to feel inferior to anyone, even Lambo. The F430 has been praised by a number of magazines. It's always in the top 5 in their lists and often in the number 1 spot.

Even JC said: "The F430 is the finest driving machine ever made." Whether this is true or not, can be debated for ever. But there is no denying that the Ferrari V8 has nothing to be ashamed of. Besides, how is Ferrari gonna feel inferior to a company (Lambo) that has never been able to compete with it in F1??
