    Buying a new car...

Before I say anything I promise this won't turn into anything like Zytek's million page nightmare! (although he did get a merc in the end..)

Incase any of you don't know I've sold my old Sigma (and didn't get that Toyota Cressida...turned out to be a lemon). I've found this nice little Citroen ZX Citroen zx aura 1996 for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them or knowledge. Its a pretty reasonable price especially considering the KM's. any info would be greatly appreciated!

I like it.. it's something different and unusual. Aren't they notorious for being super dodgy?

It's not an AX, but a ZX. I don't have experience with them, other than a friend of mine used to have one and it was fine.

Not the most interesting car in the world, but it'll do what it's supposed to do I guess.

    My bad!

Its what I'm looking for. It'd be nice to get something interesting but in my price range thats more or less spelling trouble. Easier to get this for a while and sell it when I can afford something funner. I hope its not super dodgy! I read some reviews and while they're not without their problems, its nothing too bad, especially at the KM's its at now.

my friend's dad had one which we borrowed to do a 600 mile round trip in. It was a 1995 1.9 diesel and it was one of the comfiest long distance journeys i've done. it didn't miss a beat the whole trip despite being stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam in the baking summer sun. Reliable, comfy and quirky little euro hatch, should be fine.

The ZX certainly isn't the most...French Citroen around.

Eh, you'll make your decision independant of what we say anyway, but I think you could better.

Its not particularly interesting, but it'll do the job well until I find something better (and have the funds!) I drove it today and its pretty nippy and seems in good nick. Gunna try get it checked over by my mechanic this week.

Got it checked over today, needs 3 new tyres, couple of oil leaks. I'll try get the guy to bring the price down to reflect this but failing that I think I'll give it a miss!

It was the second car I looked properly at. so I have one up on you in terms of decision making skills.

Secondly, I didn't make a huge thread about it.

Two scores for me. Thus, in Conclusion,
