Thirty years ago Audi S1 ruled the rally world.
Now S1 stands for a smallest S-model from Audi.
It doesn't strictly need four tailpipes to shift the exhaust gases of a 2,0 litre turbocharged engine. Also, the rear diffuser is more for show than aero effect.
Usually, the A1 comes with a torsion beam axle. But that doesn't work with a four-wheel drive system like the one on the S1. So Audi had to reconfigure the whole rear end of the car to adopt the new multi-link rear suspension from the Audi TT.
Very likeable pocket rocket with a sophisticated drivetrain, but a bit too expensive. Prices start at €29.950,-
Fast but expensive.
I think here it's around 34 grand.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
I was expecting something related to rallying and more exciting than this...
At least BMW didn't whore out the M1 name to a 2 door coupe.
