Classic racing cars from Talbot Lago, Tiga and Ralt ...
Before we talk about the interesting racing cars featured today, we would like send our best wishes to Dario Franchitti, who announced his retirement on doctors' advice following his horrific crash at Houston. Earlier this year we captured him driving the Indy-winning Lotus 38 Ford of his hero Jimmy Clark, leading fellow racing legends Jackie Stewart and John Surtees.
The earliest of the competition cars added today is the Talbot Lago T26 SS. Built in 1938, it was the first Talbot Lago to use the 4.5 litre straight six engine, which would go on to power the successful post-War racers as well. In our 34-shot gallery we have captured two of the three examples constructed.
Following the announcement earlier this week about the potential return of Tiga to Le Mans, we have today highlighted one of the marque's earlier Le Mans racers; the CG287 Rover. Our article includes two of the five examples built in 1987, which competed on both sides of the Atlantic with some success.
Considerably more succesful was the Ralt RT3, which was one of the leading Formula 3 cars of the early 1980s. Our feature car, powered by a Toyota Celica engine, holds the distinction being driven by the great Ayrton Senna to his first Formula 3 victory in England back in 1982.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
