It's greed. Sony still is more popular and the 360 might kill competition if it's half as good as they say.
We won't need PC's if they keep going with Gamconsoles like this.
Atlest when you got a PC you can buy a part here and there and it will go for years and years, What can you do when the 360's time is up? Buy the next model.

Haha. Now Apple can finally rule all, as they're meant to

And the old G4 processors were much faster than SOME of the Intels- think of it as power-to-weight ratio. They had less firepower, but something in there worked, and worked well- why else do a LOT of touring bands use PowerBook G4's? My guitar teacher personally told me that Windows were far too unreliable and slow. I'm agreeing, because I'm churning out a studio quality recording on my PowerBook.

    F**k Windows.

If you look at some of the games comming out on XBOX 360 and then look at the same game on PC's, it is almost as if the XBOX 360 has lifted the quality of PC games.

For example: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    Minimum specs for PC:
    2.5GHz Pentium 4/AMD Athlon 64 3500+; 1GB RAM; 256MB GeForce 6800 or RADEON X800 video card
    Thats a pretty serious system.

I'm getting Oblivion when my compy comes in April I'll have a Radeon X1600XT in it, which in tests by several computer magazines was better than the GeForce 6800GT.

Of course Apples are gonna run fast with quad cores.............h4x!!!

    ^to mmm_alps: that isn't serious enough.

^to Cameron: X1600XT is only faster in some settings, most being 15% faster. In any other settings, 6800GT is faster by 20% to 57%. So you better grab a Crossfire mobo before something happens. My geeky friend just switched from X850 to 6800 saying that the core's better.

Oh let's bring this into the PC Discussion Thread under the Gaming forum.

But you know my old thing would play it even with it's little G-Force/4 64mb.
But you know why i love AMD they have never had the same speed as Intel but have always got them head to head.
And now all i want for Xmas is the Dual Core AMD. A independent tester on-line matched the X2 AMD up with Intel's Dual core CPU's, Plus some P4's and FX AMD's, One FX they overclocked to 3gh/z. But after all test the X2 AMD came out in front it won 60% of all test done. Thats good enough for me.
Might look up that game mate, Is it any good?

They tailor it for their machines.
Then they run proto production and test the hell out of it.
That could take then 5 weeks 6 days to 8 weeks 6 days.

Then they move the master copy onto the production line and get running -- that takes a day

Testing is what ALWAYS takes most of the time for any software system.
( We woudl release every 6 months a major update, each of which spent 4 months in test if everything went well and longer if not )
