    Museums in New Zealand

Anybody any suggestions for car museums to visit in NZ?

Can't remember or find the name or location ATM but somewhere in Kiwiville is a large world-class vintage truck & car collection that contains many unique and otherwise super-rare vehicles, and has repeatedly been mentioned over the years as a must-see by AU's best classic-vehicle magazine, which has often toured NZ

Pretty sure it's not MOTAT but unfortunately I can't access my mag copies for a week or so to search for exact details (moving house) or if you're game I could at least provide you with the magazine's e-mail addy, for their recommendations & further info ..

Yeah, I went to the Southward Museum a couple of months ago - its awesome, informative, and well worth the visit. A great place.

There's heaps of cars from all eras - the highlights are some Mafia cars (with bullet-holes still in the windows), a V16 Cadillac.......there's a car with Copper panels......really rare stuff. Then, there's the well-known classics too - like the 300SL, Corvette Stingray, E-Type......the works really. A really good museum - I cant recommend it enough! I won't give anymore away

MOTAT (in Auckland) is more devoted to general transport (particularly trains) and technology.

Does Southward have one (or more) of those old & extremely rare (non-articulated) 1930s Chrysler Airflow-style petrol tankers, art deco style? If so, that's the one I'm trying to remember ..

I've read about NZ's unique Copper Car
