Car audio 101
1. Get an amp if you can.
2. Look for RMS outputs for Watts not the advertised max power/peak power etc.
3. A 50 watt head unit will most likely put out half that RMS. It will be enough to power the speakers but more power is better. Not for loudness as such but for an undistorted sound.
4. It is safer to power speakers with low power handing with a high powered amp than it is to drive a lower powered amp into clipping speakers with high power handling ratings. I.e. drive speakers rated at 50watts with a 100 RMS amp is better than driving 200 watt rated speakers with the output of a head unit into clipping.
5. Buy known brands however understand almost everything will be made in China!
6. Contrary to item 5 check out JayCar for cheap but good quality speakers, amps, cabling etc. You can trust everything from that my store (car audio) in my opinion and I don’t work there.

Don't listen to mustang fan, we do have Jaycar here. (Jaycar Electronics) They don't seem that focussed on car audio tho. I think I'll not worry with an amp as I've got bugger all money right now and I'm only planning on having my car right now for another year or so. I'll put a amp in the next car I buy I think.
Bought this yesterday anyway. Looks like a decent head unit, got it for a good price too.

Wow, never heard of it here -.-
Do you know where they are based? Or have stores?
Miscommunication seems to be a direct result of misplaced, text based sarcasm.
