Peugeot's ill-fatted 305 V6 was the first attempt of the french brand at a Group B car. It was supposed to substitute the 504 Coupé V6 as Peugeot's entry in the World Rally Championship.
Much like the (also cancelled) Ford Escort 1700T, the 305 V6 discarded the production version front wheel drive layout and went for a traditional front engined, rear wheel drive arrangement. The engine was a derivative of PRVs V6 family, in this case displacing 2500cc and putting out around 250bhp.
The car was eventually discarded in favour of the one of the most succesful Group B cars, the Peugeot 205 T16.
