Chassis:
The first of a pair of 1969 specification 312 F1s built, this was example was raced predominantly by Chris Amon. His best result in chassis 0017 was a third in the Dutch Grand Prix. For the final three rounds of the season, the car was entrusted to Pedro Rodriguez, who managed a fifth place in the US Grand Prix. Retained by Ferrari for many years, it was eventually sold to Giuseppe Lucchini. The car returned to the track while in the ownership of David Livingston during the 1990s. He sold 0017 to Jon and Mary Shirley, who had it completely restored by Butch Dennison. It was sold to another American historic racer, who campaigned the car extensively. In more recent years, the ‘Spaghetti’ was repatriated to Europe and prepared for racing by German specialists Methusalem Racing.
