The Camaro was introduced in 2008 and could be preordered in 2008. But deliveries actually started in 2009. Where does that leave it?
I personally think it should be introduced in 2009. (And the same for COTD)
The Camaro is a 2009 car according to my definition.

(In No Order)
1.Nissan 370Z = For improving vastly on a product that only needed marginal improvement.
2. Porsche 911 Turbo = For being able to be bitch slapped by the Gt-R, walk into the shadows, and come out even better. For the same reasons as the 370 but people will now be (somewhat) able to justify buying a 911 Turbo again.
3. 458 Italia = For Ferrari proving they actually can make a beautiful car again. But, massive discredit to Ferrari for never offering manual again. Even on the 458. (I dont know who should be more ashamed, Ferrari for not offering it, or buyers for not wanting it...they said it was purely logistical)

I tihnk both the Scirocco and the California are a bit "old" for this nomination.

I meant Scirocco R, which from the reviews seems awesome, and Californias are 2010s and were delivered in fall of 2009.

Nissan 370Z
Jaguar XJ (X351)
Mercedes-Benz E Class (W212)
Subaru Legacy (5th Generation)
Renault Laguna Coupe
Ferrari 458 Italia
Citroen C3 Picasso
Jaguar XJ 3L Diesel
Peugeot 5008
Genesis Coupe
Aston Martin Rapide
Lexus LFA
Porsche 911 Turbo Facelift
Ferrari California
VW Scirocco R
I've omitted some that some members considered 2008 cars. This is the list so far though, and the nomination period has closed I think.

Isn't the XJ TDVi and the XJ technically the same car?

Hush I listed both - you read what I said in the other thread about blanket models vs. specific models.
We needs to resolve that problem, post haste.
-
I'm gonna start the voting this week.
-
I also second the Genesis Coupe. Great drive in both the 4 and the 6.
-
If nominations are still open...
Renaultsport Clio 200
Jaguar XFR
Not sure if this counts as a 2009 or 2010 car, but if it's allowed into the competition it should win on beauty alone...
Morgan Aero Supersports

I saw the ZR1 at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, I think it debuted as a 2009 model in 2008 making it ineligible.

A 2009 model should count for the 2009 Car of the Year. I highly doubt one could have been had in 2008 aside from maybe the very first which was delivered to Jay Leno in mid-December '08. It's an '09 car.
